- Four days before the elections in the United States, Texas already has more votes than the total of 2016 in the state
Joe Biden of the Democratic Party and Donald Trump of the Republican Party are this year’s candidates.
The total number of votes is expected to exceed 150 million for the first time in history.
In the US, voting is not mandatory. These 90 million represent around 65% of the total number of people who went to the polls in the last presidential elections, in 2016.
Among the nearly 90 million people who have already voted, 20 million had not participated in 2016, according to a data analysis firm linked to the Democratic Party, TargetSmart.

In ten others, ballots sent in advance already represent more than 80% of total votes in 2016.

Early turnout is a reflection of interest in the election, but also a way to avoid the crowds on the 3rd.
This increase in electoral participation is a surprise for this electoral cycle. Biden hopes this vote-favored early assistance will help him in states that have a more conservative profile, such as Florida and Arizona.
Polls show that voters who have already cast their vote include Democratic leadership. However, that advantage has diminished in recent days.
