From UOL:
The new mayor of Recife, João Campos (PSB), 27, took office this afternoon in a closed-door ceremony at City Hall. In his speech marked by tears and the declaration of love to the first lady -the federal deputy Tábata Amaral (PDT-SP) -, he affirmed that the “objective one” of his government is to guarantee vaccination against covid-19 in Recife .
(…) Campos was also moved and cried during his speech when he quoted his father, former governor Eduardo Campos, who died in a plane crash in 2014. ”The day I lost my father here on earth, I was sure that from now on I would never be alone: I have a guardian angel, a reference in heaven and I will never be alone, “he said without holding back his tears.
He also mentioned his mother, Renata Campos, “a woman of fiber, a great example of correction and decency”, of his brothers and grandparents.
Still in the final part of the speech, he made a declaration of love to his girlfriend Tábata – who accompanied everything at the Chamber’s guest table. “[Você é] companion of life, struggle and peace; that gives me security and is always by my side; who receives me. I am very grateful to have you in my life, Tábata. Your path inspires me and you assure me that I am on the right path. I love you! ”He stated.
