The pilot of a helicopter who fled after the aircraft crashed on Sunday morning (11), in the Nova Pontal Settlement, in the city of Rosana (SP) – bordering Mato Grosso do Sul, denied being in the service of the traffic. He was later detained at the Dourados (MS) bus station.
According to the G1 portal, the lawyer said that the pilot is a mechanic and was hired to take the helicopter to Campo Grande, but that there was a dry crash that caused the fall. He would not be a former PRF (Federal Highway Police), but a candidate who failed in the agency’s competition.
After the arrest, the police did not reveal his name to the pilot.
According to the head of Rosana’s civil police, Edmar Dias Caparroz, an expert from the Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) has been called in to investigate the case. The police chief opened a procedure and the pilot’s lawyer was due to present it to the police authorities next week.
The pilot took a taxi to the border region, despite saying that he would go to Terra Roxa in the interior of Paraná where he lives with his wife.
