RIO – In the recorded video of the meeting of the council of ministers on April 22, the president Jair Bolsonaro would have defended the exchanges under the command of Federal police de Río to try to prevent family and friends from being “harmed” in the ongoing investigations. But how many members of the Bolsonaro family, in addition to the sons Carlos and Flávio, are investigated in Rio?

Carlos and Flávio Bolsonaro are the target of five investigative procedures at the Rio de Janeiro Prosecutor’s Office that investigate the existence of ghost workers in their offices and the possible return of part of their wages, a practice known as cracking. In both, the relatives of the President are the targets of investigation.

Testimonial:The former superintendent of Rio de Janeiro contradicts Bolsonaro and confirms that his son was investigated

In Carlos’ case, there are seven family members. Ana Cristina Siqueira Valle, ex-wife of the president and who was chief of staff of her son ’02’, as well as six other relatives of his, are investigated. In the proceedings on Flávio, 12 others, including his grandfather, João Braga, his cousin Léo Índio and ten other relatives of Ana Cristina, including his ex-father-in-law, José Procópio Valle. In this investigation, Fabrício Queiroz, a friend of the President, and his relatives among the list of people investigated also appear as targets.

Although the Federal Police is not the owner of this investigation, since 2018 two investigations have investigated related events. The PF had an electoral investigation until March this year that investigated whether Senator Flávio Bolsonaro committed money laundering and electoral misrepresentation when declaring his assets in the 2014, 2016 and 2018 elections. This procedure was initiated based on the complaint of a citizen about the senator’s statements to the electoral justice. Flávio assigned different values to the same department. GLOBO discovered that the PF concluded the case without breaking fiscal and bank secrecy.

The investigation was carried out until March, when it was sent to the Judiciary with a request for presentation for not having found evidence of the crimes identified. However, in the investigation of the Rio MP, prosecutors point to the existence of evidence that the money from the return of wages would be laundered through the purchase of real estate. Part of the investigation involves precisely the property that was the focus of PF’s investigation. The MP, however, has not yet concluded the case and the senator denies the charges.

In addition, an investigation was being carried out at the police station for the suppression of corruption and financial crimes of the Rio de Janeiro FP in which Queiroz considered himself “interested” in one of the lines of investigation. At the beginning of last year, a person, whose identity is kept confidential, was called to testify and in the course of the questions he was asked about Queiroz and his activities in Alerj.

Queiroz’s defense requested access to the file in August last year, but the judge of the 5th Federal Criminal Court, Adriana Alves dos Santos Cruz, denied access because the PF reported that Queiroz was not formally investigated and that the mention that existed was the Coaf report in which an unusual movement of R $ 1.2 million was recorded in his account. This investigation continues.

In addition, in late October, the testimony of the doorman of the condominium where Bolsonaro lives in Rio was made public. He told the Civil Police that one of the assassins of Councilor Marielle Franco asked to go to Bolsonaro’s house the same day of the crime, a contradictory version. by an expert from the Public Ministry in audios of the ordinance. The president saw in the episode a persecution by the Witzel government against him and his family. Then he asked Moro for an investigation. The PF opened an investigation and listened to the doorman, who turned away. Bolsonaro estimates that there was no effort to exempt him. GLOBO learned that the investigation is being reported and the doorman will not be charged.
