For now, there is no specific remedy against the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and not even a vaccine for COVID-19, according to the WHO (World Health Organization). In this scenario, it is more than necessary for countries to get involved with the latest studies on the virus to protect their populations. Still, worldwide, there are more than 290,000 deaths from respiratory disease, according to information from Johns Hopkins University.
As stated by the Minister of Health, Nelson Teich, Brazil is in negotiations to participate in the group that will carry out the tests for the first immunization vaccine against COVID-19. “We are working to integrate a group that will test the first vaccine against COVID-19. We are interacting to be part of this group. This is important for Brazil,” Teich said during the Ministry’s press conference yesterday afternoon. (eleven)
We also want to prepare for the possible discovery of a vaccine against the disease. We are in constant conversation with researchers and laboratories to ensure that this protection is offered to Brazilians.

In his speech, Minister Teich added that the ministry does not prohibit the use of any proven drugs for the new coronavirus, including chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. “The Ministry of Health does not prohibit the use of medications that have been tested for COVID,” he explained of the medications that can be administered to hospitalized patients since March.
OR @minsaude on 23.03 reported that chloroquine can be prescribed to hospitalized patients (https://t.co/vf8vjq9nKc). OR @Medicina_CFM On April 23, I understood the exceptional nature in which we live and made it possible to use it in other situations (https://t.co/AKGELVJPl8).

Vaccine in Brazil
In a press conference last week, on May 6, the minister already stated that Brazil was in negotiations to have quotas in the tests of the first coronavirus vaccine. On the occasion, Teich stated that he sought to anticipate the emergence of a more effective treatment against COVID-19 with the laboratories.
“Another important thing, we are talking with possible laboratories that are going to produce vaccines, so that we can guarantee that if a vaccine appears, that Brazil has a quota, that Brazil has a part,” the minister reported. @TeichNelson.#coronavirus # COVID-19 pic.twitter.com/a3McChomQ8
