Firefighters work to remove the body, which is in an area of difficult access near the Rio das Velhas
The Fire Department located a body near the Rio das Velhas, in Matozinhos, in the Central region, in the early hours of Saturday. The Military Police and the Civil Police attend the operation. It is not yet possible to conclude if the body belongs to the man who was dragged down the Arrudas river on Wednesday (11), in the eastern region of Belo Horizonte.
Early Saturday afternoon, firefighters received a call from a farm worker near Rio das Velhas, in Matozinhos, stating that he had seen a body there.
A rescue team began searching the region with the use of divers. Around 6:00 p.m. the body was sighted and the military began the operation to rescue the body, which is in a place with difficult access. The Military and Civil Police were called. According to firefighters working on the rescue, it rains a lot at the site.
The corporations are going to work to identify the body and determine if it belongs to the man who was carried down the Arrudas River on Wednesday.
