Ms Flordelis sent a message to the women’s group in the Chamber of Deputies denying that she killed her husband and asking for help from other parliamentarians to prevent her mandate from being revoked. Flordelis was charged with the death of Pastor Anderson do Carmo and her mandate as a deputy may be revoked. The information was released by CNN Brazil.
In the message, Flordelis says that she has not yet been tried or convicted and that she has the right to respond. “I was not tried or convicted, I was charged, denounced by the prosecution, I have the right to fight to prove my innocence, but if they hunt down my conviction they are taking away my right to fight, because I am going to jail,” said the deputy.
According to the report, Flordelis sent the messages in the early morning of Thursday to Friday (28). She reiterates more than once that she did not kill her husband and that she cannot lose her mandate, so as not to lose her privileged forum.
“Let me release myself to fight, and that will only be possible with the non-termination of my mandate (…)” I did not kill my husband and I did not kill him, “said the parliamentarian.
The deputy also accused his daughter of impersonating her, and that, therefore, she would not be responsible. “My daughter confessed in court that she took my cell phone and wrote and sent the messages, posing as me to get what she wanted. I will send her testimony on Sunday,” he said.
The mayor, Rodrigo Maia, scheduled meetings in the Plenary for next Tuesday (1) to define the future of the deputy.
