Governor Camilo Santana (PT) stated, this Friday morning (1), that if necessary he will take stricter isolation measures to contain the advance of Covid-19 in Ceará. The governor went to social networks and said that the attitude is to protect the population.

“If I have to take tougher isolation measures to deal with this pandemic and protect our population, I will take it. I will not back down a millimeter on this mission. Always based on facts and science. I will make all the decisions that can help save lives.” .

Previously, Camilo had already left a message for the population praising Labor Day. On the occasion, Camilo affirmed that “without life, there is no work” and that “together we will overcome this moment to celebrate our Labor Day later”.

Ceará surpassed the mark of 500 deaths from the new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2), according to data published at 9:04 am this Friday (1st) by the Department of Health of Ceará (Sesa). According to the agency, the state recorded 505 deaths from the disease and 7,879 confirmed cases. The mortality rate is 6.4%.

Fortaleza, the epicenter of virus contamination in the state, registers 5,997 confirmed cases of infection and 387 deaths due to Covid-19. Of the 184 municipalities in Ceará, 150 cities have confirmed coronavirus cases, as of this Friday.

The figures presented by the Department of Health refer to the availability of test results to detect the presence of viruses, which does not necessarily correspond to the date of death or the beginning of the presentation of symptoms by the patient.
