The choice of “Dream team“In the history of football, made by the magazine France Soccer, reached the attacker position. After 170 journalists elected, along the same lines as Golden ball, a list of stars in defense and midfield, the chosen ones of the attack were defined on Monday (19).
Brazilians Garrincha, Jairzinho, Romário, Ronaldo, Rivellino, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho are on the list. Of the 120 names, 20 are from Brazil, 17.6%, the country that ranked first. Then came Italy, with 15 players and the Germany, with 12.
Some names that deserved to be on the list were left out, such as goalkeeper Gylmar dos Santos Neves (the only two-time world champion in the position), Brazilian midfielder Clodoaldo, Polish midfielder Zbigniew Boniek and Argentine forward Gabriel Batistuta.
The election, which began on the 5th, will define a team among all those chosen. The unprecedented initiative was the magazine’s choice to replace the Golden ball, canceled due to the pandemic.
In parallel, there is a popular option on the magazine’s website that, however, will not influence the decisions of journalists.
