“I think exactly like Raí. No one can blame the other,” says Casagrande, criticizing Caio Ribeiro

Socrates and Casagrande in the times of Corinthian democracy

Corinthian idol Walter Casagrande Jr. went to his Instagran to criticize the former player Caio Ribeiro and to support the idol of São Paulo Raí, who recently spoke out calling for the resignation of Jair Bolsoaro (no party). Ribeiro, after Raí’s speech, said that the athlete should speak only about soccer.

Casagrande, who was one of the protagonists of the Corinthians Democracy movement in the 1980s, wrote the following:

I think exactly like Raí. I am against the return of football, right now. Every day, deaths increase in the country. It is absurd to think about it. I have already spoken on this subject several times. In a democracy, all people can and must express their opinions, on any subject, regardless of their profession.

No one may want to censor the other person’s speech and determine what topic to talk about. This, in my opinion, is undemocratic. Regardless, Raí proudly represented his brother, Socrates (Magrão) and I have no doubt that he would say the same.

People in football are charged a lot for lack of participation and opinion. Raí is one of the few who has positioned himself. Congratulations Raí! You would be a great partner in Corinthian democracy. Before any controversy, we must unite and be more supportive, in this critical moment that humanity is going through.
