“When I got to the site, I saw that there was a PRF garrison. So I thought: ‘this accident was not on the mud road, it was here in BR. This is with PRF. But let’s stop here. ‘ I stopped the car with my team. When I got there, I saw that the bike was completely wrecked. The blow was violent. Then I looked behind the bike and saw a pink helmet. My daughter’s helmet. I looked and said ‘this helmet I know, it belongs to my daughter’. Then the boy came up to me and said ‘calm down, Sergeant Góis. It was Gabi, ‘”he said excitedly.

“At that moment Jesus gave me strength, encouraged me and I went to the car. Arriving at the passenger side, I visualized my son-in-law. From behind, already inside the smithy. And I saw his feet. So I ran, I pulled up to the side of the car and opened the door. When I opened the door, my daughter was lying down as if she was sleeping. At that moment I opened my mind to God and said, ‘Lord, give me strength. Because I know that my daughter is no longer with me, not even my son-in-law. But the Lord will give me strength, ”he said.

The sergeant remained at the scene of the accident until the arrival of the Technical-Scientific Institute of Expertise (Itep). In an interview with Inter TV Cabugi said that Gabriella wanted to be a federal highway police and that she was studying to make this dream come true. “She was a studious girl. Last week she even told me that she was going to be very proud, that she was going to be a federal highway patrol. But she didn’t have time,” she said.

Gabriella and João Vitor had been dating for a year and, according to the family, they were already planning their engagement.

João Vitor’s body is veiled in the Macaíba Adventist Church. Gabriella’s body is veiled at her family’s house, which is located on marginal BR-226, where the accident occurred.
