How to know if your data was used after the Facebook leak

[ad_1]

This Saturday (2), the head of technology of Hudson Rock, digital intelligence company, Alon Gal, said that about 533 million data from various users of the Facebook everyone had been leaked by a hacker. More than 8 million were data from Brazilians.

According to Gal, the leak included phone numbers, full names, locations, dates of birth, biographies, and in some cases, even people’s email addresses.

Although it is not possible to know exactly what data inserted in the social network was criminally collected, it is possible to know if, for example, your CPF has been defrauded and used to make purchases on your behalf – a concern that afflicts many Brazilians.

How do I know if my CPF has been defrauded?

To identify fraud in your document, simply go to the website Registered, a Central Bank system that shows transactions with financial institutions, such as credit and currencies.

When the site loads, click the “I am an individual” button just below the “First login” menu.

There you can choose to register by cell phone, internet banking, digital certificate, or even in person, something risky in times of Covid-19. All options give you the right to access reports such as active checking accounts, loans and financing in your name and registered PIX keys.

Find out how to consult the Registry:

  • By cellphone: if your option is the smartphone, just enter your bank’s application, look for the “Registrato” option, get a PIN (normally four-digit password) that will later be used to access the Central Bank system and request the reports ;
  • By Internet banking– You must get a security phrase on the home page of the Central Bank, inserting data such as CPF, date of birth, mother’s name and name of the bank in which you have an account. Then access your bank’s Internet banking from your computer. And, finally, complete the registration directly on the Registrato website, having access to the same reports mentioned above;
  • Digital certificate: To access the Registry with this option, you must have an e-CPF type A1 or A3 to prove your identity. With it, the user gets the password.

I was the victim of fraud. And now?

If your CPF has been defrauded, it is important to act quickly.

If you find information that does not match your pattern of purchases and loans, call or contact the SAC of your financial institution and, at least once a month, check with the Registry if they are using your information in a criminal way.
