The National Meteorological Institute (Inmet) has issued alerts for the danger of death from hyperthermia in parts of the Midwest and Southeast regions, as well as areas of the state of Tocantins, in the north of the country. According to the institute, the alert goes until Thursday (8) or Friday (9), depending on the location.

Inmet meteorologist Olivio Bahía explains that in Brazil it is not common to see death associated with a heat wave. “In Brazil it is not common, but we know that the human body feels it. These deaths caused by heat waves are more frequent in Europe, ”he says.
Bahia explains that the warning is issued when temperatures are registered exceed the average temperature in a given area by five degrees. “From two to three days, the alert is yellow. Orange is when the above average temperature condition ranges from three to five days. More than five days, like now, the alert is red ”.
