The previous heat record in Belo Horizonte had been registered in 2015, when, on October 22 of that year, the thermometers reached 37.7ºC. Days before, on October 16, the temperature was 37.4ºC. The third place on the list was held last Monday (28), when the capital of Minas Gerais reached 37.3ºC.

Last year, the highest temperature was 35.5 ° C, on September 13. This increase in temperature in Minas is the result of a mass of hot and dry air that operates throughout the Central Region of the country.
