Hours after the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, stated that the Ministry of Health would announce on Monday (4) the dates of vaccination against Covid-19 in the country, the folder released a note on Sunday (3) stating that there is no official announcement for this Monday, but is “working tirelessly to announce the date as soon as possible.”
“All negotiations with the laboratories are being carried out in a cautious and safe manner, always thinking of the best for all Brazilians,” the document says.
In the note, the ministry again said that it works “with three terms.” The folder foresees the start of vaccination against Covid-19 in the “best case” on January 20 and, in the “worst” case, on February 10. The dates had already been reported by the portfolio on the 29th of the last day. That day, in an interview with the press, the executive secretary of the portfolio, Elcio Franco, presented the forecast that was reiterated in a note this Sunday.

“In the best case scenario, we would be starting the vaccination from January 20. In the medium term, between January 20 and February 10, and in the long term from February 10,” he said.

“We will follow the national immunization plan. Tomorrow Minister Pazuello will announce the dates of the National Plan. What he announces will be what the city, the state and all of Brazil are going to do, ”Paes said.
