The commanding general of the CBMDF expressed his opinion on the case. Asked about how the incident will be handled, the official said that the high command quickly became aware of the facts and that the first step was to determine an investigation by the corrective sectors of the CBMDF.
“It is a case that needs to be investigated, like any other, that involves possible transgressions committed by military firefighters,” he said. The commander indicated that the sergeant will not be transferred from functions in the street to internal activities, since he already fulfills a function in the Corporation’s Supply and Materials Center (Cesma), without external action.
The CBMDF Internal Affairs Department has started an administrative procedure to investigate what happened. “From now on, the CBMDF opposes any form of aggression and violence. The corporation is a tireless defender of respect for each citizen and its duty is to protect society, ”he said in a statement.
