Neighbors of the Assembly of God Church Voz do Calvário are “shocked” after the murder of pastor Francisco Antônio dos Santos Marques, 35, this Sunday morning (4/10). The priest was hit on the back when he was on his knees in prayer. A woman who participated in the celebration was also shot, touched and is not in danger of death.
The case occurred around 9 in the morning, on set W of QS 11, in Areal. According to Pastor Adão Luiz Rodrigues, 37, who also leads the church, there were four people at the service that began at 9 am this Sunday. “I woke up, I was drinking coffee and I heard five shots. At the same time, I ran and was already gathering a lot of people. I still held it [Francisco], but he died in my arms ”, he narrated.
“The boys still saw the boy [suspeito] running up the street. But we don’t know his motivation or who he is. We know that he came to kill, with the objective already in him, “he added.
Adão says that he has lived in the region for 15 years and has never seen a situation like this. “Everything is quiet here. I’ve never seen anything so terrible. I was very surprised. He was a calm man, without problems with anyone ”, he commented.
The two religious leaders met in another church, in Recanto das Emas. According to Adão, Francisco had been in charge of the Assembly of God for two years and he has always been a “hard-working” man.
Out of justice
Francisco Marques was a fugitive from justice since August 23, 2018. He is accused of committing a homicide in Paranaíba, Piauí, his hometown. The Civil Police of the Federal District does not rule out any line of investigation.

A neighborhood resident says he was coming home this morning when he heard the shots and ran to the church. He reports that the neighbors still asked for help, but the religious had already died.
“I was coming from the supermarket when I heard the popcorn. When I went to church, they were already holding him. I tried to measure my pulse, but I didn’t feel anything, ”said the man who asked not to be identified.
The neighbor said that he is a bricklayer and that the pastor used to work with paint on construction sites. “We have already worked together on some services. Sometimes he would call me to do some work there. [na igreja]. He seemed like a quiet guy, ”he said.
Burial
Relatives, friends and faithful of the church where Francisco Marques was pastor organize a kitten to defray the expenses of the pastor’s funeral.
In videos and messages that circulate on social networks, the regulars of the Assembly of God of the Voz del Calvario temple ask for an economic contribution to pay for the burial, which would cost around R $ 3.5 thousand.
The funeral of the parish priest is scheduled for this Tuesday (10/6), around 9 am, at the Campo da Esperança Cemetery in Taguatinga. The burial is scheduled for 11 in the morning.
