After days of intense heat and temperature records, the long-awaited significant rain arrived in Belo Horizonte on Wednesday night (14). In addition to a strong gale that accompanied the precipitation, part of the city was hit by hail during the rain.
Inhabitants of the Planalto neighborhoods, in the Northeast region, and São Luiz, in Pampulha, even recorded videos and photos of the moment when ice stones fell from the sky during the rain.
In the neighborhoods of Tupi in the Norte region and Barro Preto in the Centro-Sur region, residents reported that they were left without electricity as soon as the rains began. Overvoltages were also registered in the Camargos neighborhood, in the Northwest region.

The storm and wind that hit Belo Horizonte on Wednesday night (14) were enough to knock down the walls of the third floor of a property in the Pompeia neighborhood, east of the capital.
According to the Fire Department, the side and rear walls of the third floor of the residence were new and in the process of healing, they were erected this afternoon.
With the fall, the rubble from the 4 walls, each 2.80 m high, fell on the neighboring property. Luckily no one was hurt.
Soldiers from the Fire Department came to the site to conduct an inspection of the property.
