Defender Gustavo Gómez, from Palmeiras, will experience a special day next Tuesday, at 9:30 p.m., in Asunción, Paraguay. For the first time, he will face Libertad, the club that revealed it, in the first leg of the Libertadores de América quarterfinal.

Amid praise for his former club, the defender asks Palmeiras for attention:

– There are no easy or difficult teams. Every game is very difficult. We work for each game, they are always different. We always seek victory away from home. Libertad is a strong team, we already have another strong and intense Paraguayan team (Guaraní). We will do our best.

– We will do our best, a good game, we will use well if possible. Freedom is there for something, it has qualities. The teams qualified because they have quality. It is not to be small or big, the Libertadores is a separate game and we will do everything possible to have a positive result – he evaluated.

Gómez also spoke of his relationship with Libertad and does not deny the special moment when he faced the former club for the first time.

– I have many friends there, people who work there. I started in Freedom. I really appreciate what they did for my career, they helped me a lot. I always talk to my teammates, I also have friends from the national team. It will be a special match, but I am very focused – he declared.

The match between Libertad and Palmeiras is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. this Tuesday, at the Defensores Del Chaco stadium, in Asunción. The return will be on the 15th, at 9:30 p.m., in Alliazn Parque.
