Several houses and shops in the Manoel Monteiro Torres, António Francisco Moreira and Vila dos Professores neighborhoods were detached and partially destroyed by the wind. This Saturday (10) I was cleaning the streets and inspections of the affected properties.

The Guaçuí Civil Defense coordinator, Joilson Wagner da Costa, continues to examine the teams. “We are prioritizing service to families, taking people out of risk areas and analyzing structures. The sum of displaced and homeless people will be done at the end of the day. We are conducting an estimated survey to execute with the State to ratify an emergency situation. At least six houses lost 100% of the structure, ”said the Civil Defense coordinator.

The fire department headquarters had roof tiles, windows and garage structures broken by the wind. In addition to the neighborhoods, the Antinhas community, inland, was also affected. The city has provided a hotel in the city center to house residents who have suffered damage to their homes.

THE WINDS COME HOME AND BUILDING

The gale brought down trees and poles. One of them hit a house, but no one was injured and the side of a building’s terrace nearly collapsed. With the high number of discharges and gusts that hit Guaçuí this morning, the neighborhoods faced energy problems this Saturday.

According to EDP, the service has been strengthened and, at the moment, more than 100 electricians are on the streets working to restore supply.

As there are still more rain forecasts in the region, the Guaçuí Civil Defense warns that the population will activate the organ, at risk, by 193.

Owner of a cement artifact company for 7 years, the merchant Edvaldo Carvalho, 55, estimates a loss of R $ 200 thousand. The iron shed that stored the produce was bent by the wind and the tin roof collapsed. Today, 14 men worked cleaning.

“I never imagined something like this could happen. Floods, we are even used to it, but never that. The material loss reaches R $ 200,000, but the emotional loss is very great. What comforts us is solidarity. Since last night, I have received many calls, messages from people who do not even think they can help me, ”said the merchant.
