GSI again denies Abin’s reports to Flávio Bolsonaro: ‘Bad faith’

The GSI (Institutional Security Office), headed by Prime Minister Augusto Heleno, again denied that Abin (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) made reports to help Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans) in the Queiroz case, which revealed the existence of a supposed “cracking” scheme in Alerj (Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro).

The demonstration was sent today to the STF (Supreme Federal Court) and complies with a determination imposed by Minister Cármen Lúcia, rapporteur of the case, who yesterday gave a period of 24 hours for Heleno and Alexandre Ramagem, general director of Abin, to provide clarifications. .

A report from Época magazine published last Friday (11) indicates that Abin has prepared two reports that detail the operation of an alleged criminal organization in the Federal Treasury that, according to Flávio’s defense, would have carried out an exhaustive search of the senator’s fiscal data. In one of the documents, the described purpose is “to defend FB in the Alerj case”.

The reports would be the result of a meeting held in August between the defense of Flávio with Ramage, Heleno and President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party), in the Planalto.

At the request of Época magazine, the senator’s defense confirmed the authenticity of these reports; the GSI, however, denied it, reinforcing the statement to the STF. At today’s demonstration, the agency also criticized journalist Guilherme Amado, a columnist for the magazine, who subscribes to the report on the case.

“It is clear, therefore, that the alleged illegal act (…) is based entirely on the capricious narrative of a journalist who often exorbitates his right to expression, imputing, without evidence, abusive behavior to the public powers, without no type of responsibility with the truth of the facts ”, accused the GSI.

It is simply a litigation in bad faith, whose political motivation is latent and aims to achieve the honor and image of those involved. The stories are speculative, without any burden of veracity, and the lawsuit that supports suffers from the same vices, so it cannot prosper.

Abin repeats GSI

Also summoned to raise his voice, Abin denied the existence of reports “or any other document” prepared to help Flávio in the case of the “crackers”, despite confirming the meeting between the senator’s defense, Ramage, Heleno and Jair Bolsonaro .

“As mentioned in the cited documents – GSI official notes and Factual Report signed by the Director General of the Agency – there was no adoption of any action within the scope of the GSI and the Brazilian Intelligence Agency resulting from the meeting held, because it is already judicialized, and treated in the area of Internal Revenue Internal Affairs ”, he stated.

The meeting, still according to Abin, was “completely regular” and is within the powers that the law attributes to the GSI. The agency also said that it does not work “outside of legality”, as the Época report suggests (“the deviation of purpose, in violation of the constitutional text, is manifest”).

“Now, what deviation of purpose are we talking about, if Abin did not produce any intelligence report in this case? We are living in an exceptional regime, not because of what the tabloid stories cite and reproduce without any zeal on the part of the authors , but because of the anti-legality of a request that does not present evidence and is still pending before the highest court in the country, ”he criticized.
