Grêmio ends Fluminense’s undefeated series, and Fred and Renato attack each other: ‘You’re a b …!’

Five straight wins and eight official matches without losing. OR Guild extended its good phase this Sunday, visiting the Fluminense in Maracanã and wins 1 to 0, for the 20th round of the brazilian championship.

With the result, the eighth-ranked Grêmio goes to 30 points, two less than Fluminense, who is in fifth place and saw the end of a series of eight unbeaten matches (five wins and three draws). The last setback for the Cariocas was on September 24, when they led Atlético-GO 3-1 for the Brazil Cup.

Now it is the team led by Renato Gaúcho that has gone eight games without losing, six of them wins. In addition, he won his last five games: he beat Juventude twice, Red Bull Bragantino and Athletico-PR in the period.

Overcrowded, the Rio Grande do Sul team will focus its attention on the Copa do Brasil, a competition in which it will visit Cuiabá at 7:00 p.m. (Brasilia time) on Wednesday, due to the clash that goes to the quarterfinals. The game

In a first with 15 appearances (nine from the local team and six from the visitors), Grêmio hit the post with a header from Churín at 12min, but the ball did not take long to enter the goal. The gauchos opened the scoring in the 28th minute, with Churín receiving a good pass from Luiz Fernando on the counterattack and low center for Pepê to get in the net.

On the Rio side, Hudson (kick from the edge of the area) and Fred (header) forced Paulo Víctor to make good saves at 26min and 43min, respectively.

After half-time, the duel was not very hectic, and the local team failed to create chances to tie the game, while the gauchos exploited the counterattacks well.
