Grêmio and Inter tie classic with two expulsions

The sixth Gre-Nal of the year ended in a draw. Today (3), at the Arena do Grêmio, the home team opened the scoring and Internacional sought the 1 to 1 on penalty. The classic valid for the 13th day of the Brazilian Championship was also marked by the expulsions of Musto and Bruno Cortez and by the end of Colorado’s quick goal against their rivals. But the tri-color invincibility continues. There are already 11 games without defeat against the biggest rival.

Pepê and Thiago Galhardo scored the goals for Gre-Nal 428.

Musto was sent off with the help of the VAR, which captured the player’s offer with Diego Souza. The same video referee served to score a penalty that scored the Inter goal after Cortez’s touch. The winger then received a second yellow for a shot with Cuesta.

The result makes Grêmio reach 14 points and Inter add 22. In the next round, Renato Gaúcho’s team receives Coritiba and Eduardo Coudet’s team visits Red Bull Bragantino.

Who did it well: Pepê

Candidate for the new “Gre-Nal Man”. For the second consecutive game against Inter, he showed intelligence and opportunism. After the first blackout, he decided.

Who disappointed: Abel Hernández

Author of two goals in the Libertadores, the Uruguayan hired to replace Guerrero continues as the Peruvian: without brandishing the nets in Gre-Nal. He lost all disputes against the defense.

Who went wrong: Musto and Cortez

Volante got a red card midway through the second half, in a play reviewed by the VAR. Argentino had already been sent off against Grêmio in the first Gre-Nal of the season. Bruno Cortez, for his part, didn’t do well either. The winger scored a penalty and was later sent off.

Renato makes Grêmio control the game without the ball

Grêmio gave up possession and pushed further back compared to the Gre-Nal da Libertadores in Beira-Rio. Even so, Renato Gaúcho’s team managed to better shape the strategy until the break. The idea was simply not clearer for the merit of Internacional.

Coudet holds socks and Inter resists

Inter changed midfield, with Edenilson and Patrick retiring to avoid Grêmio’s doubles on the wings. The movement gave more defensive strength, but affected the attack. Eduardo Coudet’s team only created an opportunity until the break. Long ball for Héctor, on the right.

All of Grêmio’s goals against Internacional in 2020 came out in the same way, as UOL Esporte showed before the classic. With great participation from the left attacking side. Pepê followed Gre-Nal’s “map”.

Inter finally scores again

Thiago Galhardo, from the penalty spot, put an end to Internacional’s long fast in Gre-Nal. After seven games, the team returned to swing the Grêmio nets. It was 1,002 minutes with nothing. The last time it had been on goal against Paulo Miranda, last year. Inter’s goal, scored by a player from Inter himself, had not occurred since 2018, with Edenilson.
