The aggressor, identified as Jackeny Melo, was pleased with the reporting team for the story made by reporter Arcênio Corrêa, who interviews PAM officials. Melo tried unsuccessfully to take the microphone from the journalist.
Meanwhile, another unidentified man came up behind the press professional and hanged him. Cameraman Stanley Matias tried to separate the two. The scenes were recorded by the cameraman himself, who left the camera on during the act.
