This month’s Piauí magazine reports that actress Dani Calabresa was the victim of sexual and moral harassment by Marcius Melhem, former director of Humor at Globo. In total, the magazine lists two victims of sexual harassment, 7 victims of moral harassment and 3 victims of sexual and moral harassment. The magazine says Globo opened an internal investigation on the matter (compliance procedure). And it reports that Melhem left the company in August of this year. Several press media have echoed the magazine’s report.

Heard from Piauí and these vehicles, Globo reported that it carefully investigates all reports of harassment and does not tolerate abusive behavior. But that he cannot publicly comment on such an investigation because he has assumed with all his collaborators a commitment to the secrecy of the process, which protects the investigation of the facts, complainants, defendants and witnesses. Even in the event of termination, the reasons are not made public. Despite these clarifications, the magazine Piauí and other media criticized Globo for not commenting on this specific case.

As proof of transparency, Globo informs its audience that Piauí’s report can be read, free of charge on the Internet, on the Magazine’s website: piaui.folha.uol.com.br

Although he does not directly address the accusations against Marcius Melhem in public, Dani Calabresa has been talking about harassment on his social media. The profile in Twitter and on Instagram it’s @calabresadani.

And an interview in which Marcius Melhem admits mistakes, but defends himself saying that he never committed harassment, can be found on the UOL portal: uol.com.br/splash

This same text was repeated in the other national newscasts of the station and Globonews.
