Galaxy Note 9 receives a big update with the April patch and Google RCS

Better late than never: Samsung began distributing the April security patch for the Galaxy Note 9 in Brazil. The package arrived atypically with a weight of almost 500 MB, but this is because the update brings other news.

No, unfortunately Samsung has not yet released One UI 2.1 for the smartphone. But there are changes to the interface, yes: the search button in the quick notification menu has been replaced by a power button, by which it is possible to turn off or restart the device.

In addition, the Google RCS messaging function arrived, since the following screens present its interface and some configuration options:

These were two new features that were already seen with the update, but there may be others, as the changelog for the update is very generic.

In addition to these new features, of course, there are improvements in stability and … security, the primary focus of these monthly or quarterly releases, depending on the device.

Remember, the S20 line is already receiving the May security package. Cell phones are the company’s flagship right now, and of course they receive special attention. But as evidenced by the documents of Samsung itself, the situation tends to change at the beginning of the second half, with the arrival of the new Galaxy Fold 2 and the Note 20 family.

And you, do you have a Galaxy Note 9 and have you already received the news? Did you notice anything beyond what we reported in terms of new features? Tell us in the comments!
