Most of the state of São Paulo will experience a significant temperature change between now and tomorrow. First, the thermometers should record an all-time heat record in the capital. But the next day the temperature will drop a lot in most of the state. This feeling of sudden change should be repeated in other nearby regions, including the capitals of Rio de Janeiro and Paraná. The information is from the meteorologist André Madeira, from Climatempo.
In the city of São Paulo, the historical temperature record is 37.8 ° C, registered on October 17, 2014. Yesterday this mark was almost surpassed, since the maximum temperature reached 37.1 ° C. Now the Climatempo’s forecast indicates that, in the afternoon, the thermometer will read 38 °. At 10 in the morning, today’s temperature (29ºC) was already higher than at the same time yesterday (28ºC), according to Inmet data.
The cities in the interior of São Paulo have registered much higher temperatures. Jales, Dracena, Ibitinga and Barra Bonita were over 40 ° C yesterday. Today the expectation is a maximum temperature of 44 ° C in Dracena.
On Saturday, the temperature change will occur due to the cold and humid winds from the sea. On the coast and in Greater São Paulo the temperature will drop, especially at night, to 18ºC.
“It is important to say that these winds do not have the strength to reach the entire state of São Paulo. It will still be hot in the interior,” said André Madeira, noting that the western and northern regions of the state should have the least changes.
In Rio de Janeiro, the historical heat record is 43.2 ° C, registered on December 26, 2012. In 2020, the thermometers reached a maximum of 40.2 ° C. The forecast for today is that the heat will arrive at 42 ° C, which would be the record for the year, but not the all-time record.
On Saturday there will also be a drop in temperature in Rio. But as in São Paulo, the cold front will not cover the entire state. Western cities must stay warm. And on Sunday there is an alert for possible hangovers throughout the state of Rio, since the wind will make the sea very rough.
In Paraná the temperatures are a little lower, but the sensations will be the same. In Curitiba, the historical heat record is 35.2 ° C, set long ago, on November 17, 1985. This mark may still be reached today, with a temperature reaching 36 ° C. But the cold will return with more force in the capital of Paraná as of Saturday.
