Four properties next to the house that collapsed on Friday (23), in the São Jorge neighborhood, in the western region of Belo Horizonte, were closed by the Civil Defense (DC) of the capital. Two houses were closed due to the risk of landslides and two because of the risk of being struck by the debris of the collapsed building, according to DC.

The Civil Defense stressed that the collapse is not related to the rains. The institution said it offered shelter to affected residents, who chose to go to the homes of their relatives. DC also offered humanitarian aid.

Donations

The owner of the collapsed house, Anderson de Oliveira, 49, said he, his partner and his stepdaughter live in a residence with relatives in the same region. There are three families in the same house.

“Thank God there was no accident. I am already receiving some donations of canvas, to put on the boat, which is having infiltration. Now we have to wait for the city to clean up to see what we are going to recover. We lost everything. What we have here today. ” we receive by donations ”, says the electrician.
