OR Strength took the lead and was close to an important victory, but took the turn in extra time, in the 46th minute of the second half, and was defeated by Athletic-PR 2-1, this Saturday night (7), at Arena da Baixada, in a match that marked the opening of the 2nd round of the Brazilian Championship for both teams.

With the result, Tricolor continues with 24 points and in tenth place, but with the possibility of losing positions in the complement of the round, which takes place this Sunday (8).

The Hurricane reached 19 points and left the runner-up, jumping to 17th place.

Leão do Pici returns to the field on Wednesday (11), to face Bahia, at 6:45 pm, in Salvador.

THE GAME

The first part was for the superiority and control of Fortaleza. Even before the ball rolled, the line-up set up by Rogério Ceni indicated that the proposal would be to wait for the Hurricane and explore speed to create scoring chances, and it happened.

Fortaleza created a lot. In the 4th minute, Bergson intercepted a pass from goalkeeper Santos and missed an incredible opportunity without a goalkeeper. He kicked weakly and Pedro Henrique saved over the line, much to the dismay of David, who was completely free in the middle of the area.

At 17, it was the other way around and David didn’t support him. Felipe’s long shot for Gabriel Dias to beat Márcio Azevedo in the race and hit a great cross for the 17th, who gave a sweet pass to Bergson to displace Santos and score his first goal with the lion jersey.

What was seen in the rest of the first stage was a practically complete control of the Tricolor, which was little threatened. There was no dangerous shot for Felipe Alves’ goal.

The Hurricane even had more possession of the ball (62%), but in a totally unproductive way. Leão do Pici was more organized, defended well and attacked with ease. He had the opportunity to win even more, with performances by David, Romarinho, Bergson and Osvaldo.

In the second half, however, the scenario was reversed. The local team became more incisive and created scoring chances.

However, there is a play that is decisive for the game. In a good exchange of passes, Bergson extended the scoring for Fortaleza, but the VAR annulled the goal for pointing out Romarinho’s impediment in the previous play, in a very dubious play that generated many complaints from the tricolor.

In the sequence, Carlos Eduardo tied, and in extra time, Renato Kayzer took advantage of the lioness defense after crossing and declared victory.
