The report in the Argentine newspaper, based on the findings of the agency France Presse, mentions the “wave of indignation” after a “brutal beating” in the supermarket. “La Nación” also recalled that this Friday Brazil celebrates Black Awareness Day.

In the report, the Spanish newspaper cites Porto Alegre as “a whitest city in Brazil” and mentions that the murder occurred in the middle of the municipal electoral campaign. El País also recalled Vice President Hamilton Mourão’s statement that “there is no racism in Brazil.”
