Federal deputy Flordelis (PSD-RJ) was unable to bring food to her adopted son Lucas Cezar Santos, a prisoner in the Tiago Telles de Castro Public Prison in São Gonçalo (RJ). The information was given by businesswoman Regiane Rabelo, former head of the child at CNN Brazil.

According to the police, Lucas is one of the suspects involved in the death of Pastor Anderson do Carmo. He would have negotiated the purchase of the weapon used in the crime. According to Regiane, the parliamentarian’s attempt to deliver food to Lucas took place in March this year.

At the time, prison officials did not allow the food delivered by the officer to reach Lucas’s cell. According to investigations by the Rio Civil Police, the pastor allegedly tried to kill Anderson do Carmo at least six times using poison in food.

Also according to CCN, after Flordelis’s action, attorney Angelo Máximo, a deputy prosecutor representing the Anderson family, asked the court to cancel the license that authorized the deputy to visit imprisoned relatives. The request was accepted by Judge Nearis dos Santos Carvalho Arce, of the 3rd Criminal Court of Niterói.

CNN reached out to Congresswoman Flordelis to comment on the matter, but did not respond. The Rio de Janeiro Prison Administration Secretariat did not explain why it prevented the food from being delivered to Lucas.
