Flamengo announced on Tuesday that it has reached an agreement with the players to reduce their salaries by 25% and postpone image rights. The measure is a consequence of the crisis caused by the new coronavirus pandemic, which interrupted competition. It will be valid for the months of May and June 2020 and, after this period, the situation will be analyzed again.
By means of a note, Flamengo also reported that the image rights, which would be paid in May and June 2020, will be paid in ten installments from January 2021. The agreement does not include technician Jorge Jesús and his commission.
In the note, the club also mentions that the firing of 6% of the employees, carried out after the group vacations, was a “painful” necessity.

For this first moment, the entire professional cast of players authorized the Club to reduce their salaries by 25% in May and June 2020. In addition, they also authorized the postponement of the image rights that would be paid in May and June of 2020 for registration in 10 installments, from January 2021. This agreement will be formalized between the club and the athletes in the coming days.
