Rio – The businessmen of Flamengo and Diego Alves spoke the same language again in a meeting this Thursday and approached a deal for the goalkeeper to stay one more season. The red and black board met with Eduardo Maluf, the player’s representative, and announced the extension of the tie for jersey 1. The current appointment runs until December 31.
The mess began at the end of October, when the Flamengo football department reached an agreement with Diego Alves’ staff without aligning the values with the club’s financial department, which vetoed the combined amount, about 700 thousand reais of salary and contract two years.
Since then, both sides kicked and did not want to give in. Flamengo, who made a new offer, with values lower than those previously agreed, waited for a response from Diego Alves, who wanted to close the agreement.
But last Wednesday, Eduardo Maluf arrived in Rio de Janeiro with the mission of resolving the pending issue and reaching an agreement with Flamengo, which happened on Thursday night. The goalkeeper accepted Rubro-Negro’s offer, with a one-year bail, and will remain in the Rio team for another 12 months.
