After many leaks and rumors, Xiaomi finally made official its new top line, the Mi 11. The device has just been announced in China and hits the market as the first with the Snapdragon 888 chip.
The manufacturer decided to release only a variation, leaving aside the “Pro” models as we had it, for example, in the Mi 10 line – but the new top of the line still does not stop offering features found in models with this suffix .
To begin with, in terms of memory we have 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage not expandable via MicroSD.
screen
We have for the first time in the Mi 11 series a panel with Quad HD + resolution (3200 x 1440), seeing that, until then, Xiaomi had only explored this resolution in the Mi Note Pro launched in 2015.
The OLED panel brings 6.81 “and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, well above the 90 Hz of the Mi 10. Also, the tactile response is 240 Hz, which should make a big difference for gamers on duty. .
Still talking about the screen, it is capable and offers a brightness of up to 1,500 nits and includes Gorilla Glass Victus technology for protection, the same that we know in the top of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 range.
Clearly Xiaomi did not skimp on the display of the Mi 11, and this caused the device to receive chxima note from DisplayMate, breaking 13 records for OLED panels in terms of contrast, color accuracy, reflectivity and maximum brightness.
Drums
For the battery, we have a module with 4,600 mAh capacity which, according to the company, is capable of delivering a full working day of use. Even with so much load, the Mi 11 still manages to be very “thin”, at just 8.06mm thick.
According to the company, it is possible to fully power the battery in just 45 minutes using the 55-watt charger (not included in the box). Wireless charging takes 53 minutes and supports up to 50 watts of power.
As if the high wireless power weren’t enough, the Mi 11 still has a card up its sleeve that is already present in some competitors: reverse charging. The top of the line is capable of charging other devices, headphones, and smartwatches at 10 watts.
Cameras
At the rear is a triple camera assembly consisting of a 108 MP main camera (f / 1.85 with optical stabilization), a 13 MP ultra-wide camera (f / 2.4 with 123º), and a telephoto / macro (f / 2.4 with 50 mm).
Even if it doesn’t bring a “real” telephoto lens, the Mi 11 is still capable of providing a decent experience when capturing photos and videos. The front has 20 MP resolution, which will guarantee great selfies.
For filming, the Mi 11 includes a night video mode, which promises interesting performance even when shooting in low-light environments. This model is capable of capturing videos with resolutions up to 8K.
software
Xiaomi’s latest top of the range comes from the factory with MIUI 12.5, a new version of the brand’s custom interface based on Android 11.
As for novelty, in addition to greater privacy, new wallpapers, an intelligent clipboard that prevents unauthorized applications from accessing information and 125 new sounds derived from nature, we have some interesting extras.
One of them is due to the beta version of MIUI Plus, which offers a cross-platform use experience with the ability to reflect notifications from Mi 11 on Windows PC and even guarantee access and editing of mobile phone files on the computer.
Extras and connectivity
If you are a fan of audio, the Mi 11 could be a good option. That’s because it includes Harman Kardon-signed speakers, which deliver high-quality stereo sound.
There is a fingerprint reader under the laptop screen that can even measure the frequency of your heartbeat.
In connectivity we have NFC, infrared, Wi-Fi 6E and also Bluetooth 5.2, which allows the simultaneous connection of up to two headphones at the same time.
Special edition
The manufacturer also announced that the Mi 11 should win a variant called the Lei Jun Signature Edition, which in addition to bearing the name of the co-founder (and current CEO) of the brand, Lei Jun, should include differentials such as textured glass. 3D, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
Unfortunately, the brand does not yet have detailed information on the price or availability of this model.
