On the morning of Tuesday (8), the military firefighters located the body of the 8-year-old boy, who had disappeared since last Friday (4) in the Anhanduí river. The boy was fishing with his brothers in the Jardim Ouro Preto stream, which flows into the river, when he was surprised by a ‘head of water’, which suddenly raised the level of the river.
The information was relayed by the Fire Department. There are no details yet of where the boy was found. This Tuesday, in addition to the kayaks, the military firefighters were with the Kennel dogs of the Fire Department, to help in the searches on the banks of the river, in addition to a drone. As of Friday, the military began the searches, which began early in the morning until sunset, in compliance with protocol.
Remember the case
Last Friday (4), the family went to their uncle’s house, in the Parque do Lageado region, for a visit. Second neighbor, it was the first time that the child under 8 years old went to the place. With the brothers of 12, 13 and 15 years old, he went down to the stream to fish, when a ‘head of water’ arrived.
The phenomenon occurs when there is rains in the course of the river, in the region of the creek, causing a rapid and sudden rise in the water level. Just before 6 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called due to the disappearance of people in the creek.
The two boys, aged 12 and 13, managed to get out and asked their uncle for help, who headed for the river. Desperate, he went into the water in search of the children. However, witnesses informed firefighters that they saw their uncle and one of their nephews walk out of the stream by the shore.
Initially, the information was that the 36-year-old man and the 8 and 15-year-old nephews were dragged into the stream and disappeared. Hours later, the uncle and elder nephew were found on Gunter Hans Avenue.
