OR payment of the thirteenth salary in 2021 can be anticipated by National Institute of Social Security (INSS)), according to Decree No. 10.410 published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on July 1, 2020. In 2021, the first installment of the 13th salary is expected to be paid in August, equivalent to 50% of the benefit. The second installment will be paid in November.
But who can receive the 13th salary from INSS in advance?

- Retirement;
- Pension for death;
- Incarceration assistance; and
- Maternity pay.
It is worth mentioning that due to the termination of the emergency aid payments, INSS policyholders, which include retirees and pensioners, will also receive payment of the 13th salary in advance.
In the event of a new wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the Federal Government has a contingency plan, which precisely includes the anticipation of the thirteenth salary for the insured.
In addition, the payment of the salary bonus may be released, functioning as a kind of 14th salary for pensioners who earn up to 2 minimum wages.
Anticipation of the thirteenth salary of the INSS in 2020
In 2020, the 13th INSS salary they were paid between the end of April and the beginning of June, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the official INSS calendar, the fees must be paid at the end of the year, although it was common for the first installment to be advanced to the month of August.
The Senate continued to analyze the possibility of creating a 14th salary for retirees and pensioners of the INSS, with the aim of benefiting citizens who have already withdrawn from the 13th, and are still experiencing financial difficulties due to the pandemic. However, the project did not come off paper and was not completed.
