Kassio Marques joined TRF-1 in 2011, in the quota of vacancies for legal professionals. He was elected by then-president Dilma Rousseff.

Born in Teresina, he was a lawyer for 15 years, he was a member of the National Commission of Electoral Law and Political Reform of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) in Piauí and he was also a judge of the Regional Electoral Court of the state.

The magistrate has a degree in law from the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), a specialty in law and tax process from the Federal University of Ceará (UFCE) and a master’s degree in constitutional law from the Autonomous University of Lisbon and a doctorate from the University of Salamanca, Spain.
