At Arena Castelão, the Railway was surpassed by Paysandu from 2 to 0 this Sunday (20). The duel was valid for the 7th round of the Brazilian Championship Series C. Papão’s goals were Vinícius Leite and Nícolas, both in the first half.

The result closes the unbeaten record of three home games in Tubarão da Barra. With 11 points, it occupies the 2nd position. The next appointment is against Imperatriz, on Saturday (26), at 5pm, in Maranhão.

Paysandu is 3rd, with 10. The team faces Botafogo-PB, the same day, at 7pm, in Paraíba.

The game

Ferroviário tried to be aggressive at first. With 4-3-3, Tubarão da Barra advanced the lines, had more possession and created a lot, but had difficulties to overcome the Paysandu boom.

In the strategy duel, the visitors were more effective. Investing in the counterattack, Papão opened the scoring at 22, finishing the area with Vinícius Leite.

Behind the scoreboard, the choral team launched an attack and gave more space. At 34, Uilliam Barros recovered the ball in defense, accelerated down the right wing and played for Nícolas to expand: 2 to 0.

At half-time, Marcelo Vilar sent André Mensalão and Wesley to the field. Ferrão grew a lot in production and did not suffer in the defensive system.
