Then the explosion of the tanker in Estrela, the State Foundation for the Protection of the Environment (Fepam) installed a containment barrier in the Taquari River this Saturday afternoon to prevent the products transported by the vehicle from being scattered around the site. The spill did not reach the waters, but the measure was necessary as a precautionary measure.

By evaluating the accident site, Fepam teams participated in controlling the fire, reducing the risk of further explosions. Agency technicians observed that there were enough products on BR 386 and the substances were within 10 meters of the barrier.

The road remains blocked, according to the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the guidance of the Civil Defense is that drivers avoid the stretch of km 350, which is located between Lajeado and Estrela.

Light vehicles that circulate in the capital-interior direction, there is the possibility of detour accessing Rota do Sol – ERS 453 – and later ERS 129, returning to BR 386 at km 349 next to the Taquari river bridge.

In the opposite direction, Interior-Capital, the concessionaire CCR is removing the physical barrier that separates the two lanes so that light vehicles can access in the opposite direction and enter ERS 129, making a detour. For heavy vehicles, however, there are no detours. The orientation is for them to return and look for alternative routes, depending on the destination (ERS 128, ERS 130, ERS 287).
