This Friday (09) a joint operation was carried out between the Federal Revenue Service, the Civil Police and the Federal Police. Among the apprehensions made, there are more than 60 thousand devices that are capable of evading pay TV channels in an irregular way.
The operation is being carried out in the Port of Itaguaí and in the Dry Ports of Nova Iguaçu and Resende, throughout the State of Rio de Janeiro. The arrests are due to exchanges of intelligence information between the Surveillance and Suppression against Smuggling and Embezzlement Division of the IRS, the Special Resources Coordination of the Civil Police and the Federal Police.
Countless containers are being inspected and more than 60 television decoders have been seized, which are used to access television channels bypassing the official services of producers, in violation of copyright, crime against immaterial property and contraband.
The seizure already represents a loss of more than R $ 50 million for organized crime, specifically for groups of militiamen that are dedicated to smuggling and this criminal modality.
The IRS reports that this seizure is the largest in the nation’s history involving televisions. The trend is that the number of seized devices continues to increase during the operation.
After the apprehensions and administrative procedures of the Federal Revenue Service, all the information will be directed to the Federal Police to continue the investigations in the investigation of crimes within the jurisdiction of the Federal Justice.
