Father says Henry died aggressively: “How do you talk about an accident?” – 03/28/2021

Henry Borel Medeiros’ father, Leniel Borel de Almeida, said he never believed his 4-year-old son died as a result of an accident, the boy’s mother and stepfather reported.

“How to talk about an accident in a bed? Something so aggressive,” Leniel said in an interview for “Espetacular Sunday.” The death of the child is being investigated.

In the autopsy report, the expert found multiple bruises on the abdomen and upper limbs; hemorrhagic infiltration in the frontal region of the skull, in the right parietal and occipital region, that is, in the frontal, lateral and posterior part of the head; swelling in the brain; large amount of blood in the abdomen; kidney contusion on the right; trauma with pulmonary contusion; liver laceration (in the liver); and retroperitoneal hemorrhage.

Leniel compares the result of the report to a fall from a three-story building or a car overturned given the severity of her son’s injuries. According to the version of Henry’s mother and stepfather, the child would have fallen out of bed before dying.

The father told how he is dealing with grief in these circumstances of investigating his son’s death. “I can’t sleep, I wake up crying, I sleep crying. It has been very difficult.”

Henry’s stepfather, councilor Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, known as Doutor Jairinho (Solidariedade), avoided speaking with “Domingo Espetacular” about the reasons for the child’s death: “I prefer to leave it in the hands of forensics, that the police describe what happened”. .

Henry was the son of recently divorced parents and spent the weekend with his father, the engineer Leniel Borel de Almeida. Around 7 in the afternoon, Leniel left the boy in the condominium where the mother resides. Security cameras captured the boy’s arrival.
