A three-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his own father in Betim, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, on Monday morning (7). After committing the crime, the 28-year-old man allegedly tried to kill himself.
The entire scene was witnessed by the child’s mother, the child’s grandfather. According to the Military Police, the man, who is separated from his ex-wife, had picked up his son to spend Sunday with him. At one point, he left the house, leaving the boy with his grandmother. When he returned, he would be angry, mainly because he did not accept the end of the relationship.
My mother tried to calm him down and went to the bedroom. Soon after, the woman heard screams. Upon reaching the room, she encountered the tragic scene. The grandson fallen, bloodied, and the son hitting his abdomen with the knife.
Soon the neighbors came to try to help and called the PM. At the same time, the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) was called, the boy was rescued, but died before being admitted to the hospital.
The boy’s father was transferred to the Betim Regional Hospital, where he received first aid and is still hospitalized, under police escort.
The boy’s mother, who lives in Bairro Alterosa, went into a state of shock when she learned of the tragedy.
