The Military Brigade and the Civil Police mobilized late on Tuesday morning in an incident in which a couple and a young son were found dead inside their home in Caxias do Sul, in the Serra. The crime occurred at the family’s two-story residence, located on Fábio Formolo Street, in the Jardim Iracema neighborhood. There is a suspicion that the crime occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
12th BPM military officers cordoned off the scene. The General Institute of Legal Medicine was activated. The victims, who had trademark marks, would be Édson Toffolo, 37, Vanessa Martins dos Santos, 29, and their son, Enzo dos Santos de Oliveira, four years old. Vanessa would be six months pregnant.
According to information from the agents of the Caxias do Sul Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DPHPP), the victims were shot to death and were lying face down on the couple’s bed inside the house. The man was shot 12 times, the wife was shot twice, and the boy only once. The couple had no criminal record, but both had a record of being threatened in the past year.
