The businessman and former Mr. Cuiabá Michael Bruno Silva Batista, 29, was arrested on the spot this morning on suspicion of shooting his girlfriend and a military policeman during a riot in the parking lot of a nightclub in the capital of Mato Grosso.
According to the Civil Police, he will respond for attempted murder and for threats against the military police who attended the incident. In a video that ended up on social media, the boy says the fight was over a BMW, said the police would kill him and called his girlfriend a “whore.”
Still according to the police, the case occurred around midnight at the Nuun Garden nightclub, located on Rua 24 de Outubro, in the center of Cuiabá. The suspect allegedly had a disagreement with a 29-year-old police officer, to whom his identity was not revealed, in the parking lot of the nightclub and, according to the police report (BO), began to beat him.
The BO also claims that, after falling to the ground, the military policeman had drawn a weapon. At that time, the police said that Michael Bruno took the weapon from the PM and began to shoot, which hit the policeman’s hand and also the arm of the ex-gentleman’s girlfriend, 27, who will have her identity preserved.
According to the police, Michael Bruno was detained by a military firefighter who was on the scene until the arrival of the prime minister.

The report was unable to identify the suspect’s defense. However, the former gentleman made a video, from inside the patrol car, with his version of what happened.

The former gentleman said he went to defend himself after the policeman drew his gun. “He started to take out the gun and shoot. And there I went to defend myself. I approached the guy and he started shooting at everyone. And these policemen here thought that I took the gun to shoot the guy” said the businessman.
‘They will kill me’
In the video, Michael Bruno also said that the military police who attended the incident said they would kill him. “So, I know they are going to kill me, as they already killed me here. They already shot me here inside the trunk. So, you defend me later. I won’t be able to survive. Not many people saw the scene there. I’m here [no carro da polícia]. They are talking there [os policiais]. They are saying that they are going to kill me, ”he said.
At the end of the recording, the boy stated that he intends to take care of his daughter, whom he had with his girlfriend, but that he never wants to see her again, calling her “whore”.
Rescued victims
The police reported that a team from Rotam (Metropolitan Tactical Ostensive Rounds), which provided support to the incident, helped the policeman shoot and sent him to a private hospital in Cuiabá, whose name was not disclosed.
The Samu (Mobile Emergency Service) was called to help the ex-gentleman’s girlfriend and sent her to the Cuiabá municipal emergency room.
Threat against police officers
Michael Bruno also suffered injuries and the PM sent him to the Polyclinic, where he was medicated. Later, the former man was taken to the Central de Flagrantes and, according to the police, on the way he allegedly made threats against the military police and the firefighter who arrested him.
The suspect was heard by the guard delegate at the Central de Flagrantes and ended up on the spot. The case will be investigated by the 2nd Cuiabá Police Station.
