A Europe registered more than 250 thousand deaths due to complications from the new coronavirus until this Sunday (18), according to a survey by the France Presse news agency. The number is equivalent to one fifth of all deaths by Covid-19 no mundo.

This Sunday, Italy broke, for the fourth day in a row, its daily record of new cases of Covid-19. In the last 24 hours alone, the country has registered 11,705 cases of coronavirus, the highest daily count since the outbreak began in the country.
There was also an increase in the number of deaths: 69, against 47 announced on Saturday, 55 on Friday and 83 on Thursday. THE number is much less than those recorded in height pandemic in Italy (March and April), when a daily peak of more than 900 deaths was reached.
Italy was the first country in Europe to be reached by Covid-19 and has the second highest death toll on the continent, only behind the United Kingdom. The Italian government has imposed new restrictions on gatherings, restaurants and school activities in a bid to curb the rise in infections.
European countries break records for new Covid cases
In France, at least nine cities, including the capital Paris, began having a curfew between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., as a measure to prevent the spread of the disease.
London and eight other British cities have been classified as high risk areas for contagion, the second level on a scale of up to three. More than 28 million people, half of the English population, will no longer be able to meet indoors with people from different homes.
Switzerland also recorded an increase in cases. Due to this, the government imposed the use of mandatory mask as of this Monday (19) in closed public places.
“This week, the number of cases has doubled and the increase is now exponential,” said Swiss President Simonetta Sommaruga, to justify the seriousness of the situation.
