The conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, a rare phenomenon, was accompanied by people from Ceará and people from all over the world this Monday (21). It is the height of the ‘Great Conjunction’ between the two largest planets in the solar system, which appeared in the sky with the shortest distance in history recent, visible to the naked eye. The phenomenon has not occurred since Middle Ages.

The rapprochement between the planets is nothing new. Each 20 years celestial bodies appear closer in the sky. However, what happens on Monday night is the closest thing to recent history. Whoever misses the passage of this Monday will only have one new opportunity to witness the phenomenon 60 years from nowin 2080.
In Iracema Beach, it was possible to find small groups gathered, all looking and pointing to the sky, following the rare phenomenon. The couples also came to the place to accompany the conjunction.
