Alberto is beaten by Cassiano during an argument
Esther is determined not to harm Cassiano during her testimony. But things don’t go as expected! First, she tells the police that the attack was caused by Alberto and that the pilot only hit the businessman to defend her.
“Deputy, everything was in order. He did everything possible to make Cassiano lose his mind and … do what he did.”
“By beating your husband as reported in the police report?” Asks the deputy.

Trying to explain what really happened, Ester tells the authority that Alberto is not a victim and that he is doing everything possible to end the pilot’s life.
“Just tell me one thing, Mrs. Ester. Just ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Did Mr. Cassiano Soares hit Mr. Alberto Albuquerque with punches?”

With no way out, Ester confirms Alberto’s complaint. The delegate orders the secretary to record what the witness said and Esther leaves the room against Cassiano, crying:
“Forgive me, my love. Instead of helping you, I only made things worse.”

To add fuel to the fire, Alberto arrives to mock Esther’s testimony and the difficult situation Cassiano finds himself in:
“So, my love, I came to see if your testimony turned out well. And Cassiano, are you going to attack me again? Enjoy it while you’re free because it won’t last long.”

The police chief warns Cassiano that he could be convicted of bodily injury against Alberto. Esther tries to defend Cassiano in her testimony to the police, but fails. Duke tells Olivia that Amaralina is missing. Alberto provokes Cassiano and insinuates that the rival will be arrested.
