RIO – Student organizations, such as the National Union of Students (UNE) and the Brazilian Union of Secondary Students (Ubes), request the postponement of Enem because they fear an increase in new cases of Covid-19 in the country. This Monday they organized a demonstration on social networks defending the change of date with the use of #adiaenem, which is among the most commented on Twitter.
Exam soon:With more subscribers and anti-Covid measures, the enemy of the pandemic will be 25% more expensive
There are only 13 days left until the first day of the exam. It will be held on January 17 and 24, 2021, in printed version, and on January 31 and February 7, 2021, in digital version. In total, in this edition, more than 5.7 million records were confirmed, according to Inep.
– There is a second wave of contamination and there is no reliable health security plan at the time of the test. This postponement has to join a committee of health professionals, education and students to think about a way out of the test. The schools have no structure to carry out tests for five hours – says Rozana Barroso, president of Ubes. – I want the test to happen. But there must be security.
The president of the Une, Iago Montalvão affirms that there is, among the candidates, a general climate of uncertainty.
– Some states are currently introducing new restrictions due to the increase in cases. São Paulo, for example, is on the red flag. As will be? Will it have any influence on the race? Nothing is clear. The security measures presented by Inep were formulated at a time of declining cases, and now the numbers are only increasing – he says.
Jan 2020: The exam confirmation card will be available starting this Tuesday
In social networks, the students who take the exam question the growth of cases and remember that, at the end of the year, the New Years and Christmas parties generated several images of crowded events, without social distance or with masks.
GLOBO sought the INEP and is awaiting the position of the body that organizes the examination.
In an interview at the end of December, the president of the institute, Alexandre Lopes, stated that the Ministry of Education spent R $ 65 million on personal protective equipment (PPE) and that the rooms will only have half their capacity occupied. Still, according to him, the candidates will need to wear masks, but can take off to eat and drink water inside the room.
