More than four million workers have either had their employment contracts suspended or their wages reduced during the new coronavirus pandemic. However, the government guaranteed that next week it will start paying the part of unemployment insurance that was promised to these workers.

Provisional Measure (MP) 936, which also allowed the flexibility of employment contracts during the state of public calamity caused by Covid-19, guaranteed the payment of part of unemployment insurance to workers who had their income reduced by the crisis of the coronavirus. .

However, the amount of this payment will vary according to the agreement signed between the worker and the company. It will be 100% when the contract is suspended or 25%, 50% or 75% of unemployment insurance when the salary has been reduced in these proportions. In total, the federal government expects to allocate R $ 51.2 billion to this program in the next three months.
