Elon Musk shared a rare record of his family life with Grimes, his girlfriend and their son on Monday (8).
The 49-year-old CEO of Tesla and SpaceX posted the portrait with the Canadian singer and little X Æ A-XII on Twitter. In the picture, he and the 32-year-old artist pose in sunglasses, while their 10-month-old baby touches a bouquet of flowers.
“Starbase, Texas,” the billionaire wrote in the post, referring to the new city he wants to build in America’s second-largest state. Look down:
Musk and Grimes began dating in 2018, when they appeared together as a couple on the MET Gala carpet.
They welcomed their first child in May of last year. Originally, the baby had been christened X Æ A-12, which has references to mathematical symbols and aviation nomenclatures. However, the couple had to rename the boy X Æ A-XII because California state law prohibits the use of figures in this case.
The South African businessman is still the father of five other children with Justine Wilson, his first wife. He has also been married to Talulah Riley.
In an interview with The New York Times Since July 2020, Musk has talked about what it’s like to take care of your youngest son and, at the same time, face your work routine. “I think babies are super cool and people really need to have more babies because, it seems obvious, but if people don’t have enough babies, humanity will disappear,” he reflected.
“Babies are just poop-eating machines, you know?” added the billionaire. “At the moment, there is not much I can do. Grimes has a much bigger role than I do now. When the child grows up, there will be a more important role for me. I think I am doing what I did with my other children. If I have a Tesla trip to China, for example, I take the kids with me and we go to see the Great Wall or we take the bullet train from Beijing to Xian and we see the Terracotta Warriors. “
Last week, the businessman declared on Twitter that he was “creating the city of Starbase in Texas.” He explained to a user on the social network that the site would encompass “an area much larger than Boca Chica,” a small community in South Texas that currently houses the SpaceX Starship project.
Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño also told reporters that Musk’s private space flight company has formally expressed interest in incorporating Boca Chica. However, he noted that while the county is open to this proposal, there are a number of legal obligations that SpaceX would have to meet to carry out this merger.
